Pastor Jimmy Terry, Sr., was a man of God, a General in the Army of the Lord, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and encourager. Standing in his 6-foot 3-inch frame, Pastor Terry loved the Lord, his family and Clarksville, Tennessee
Pastor Jimmy Terry was renowned for uniting all facets of the community. He became deeply involved in civic projects. Pastor Terry worked with others to petition the state to name U.S. Highway 79 “Wilma Rudolph Boulevard” he was instrumental in establishing a committee that commissioned a statue to be made in her honor. Since 1980, he was passionate in making sure there was as organized opening and closing ceremony for Black History Month as well as being a lifetime member of the NAACP. One of the first African American to graduate from Leadership Clarksville Class in 1987.
He richly influenced people in the Clarksville community with his passion for Christ that became evident through his JESUS sign campaign during Easter and Christmas that spread statewide and received national attention
